Ingredients

  • - 1.5 lbs chicken breast, cut into 1-inch chunks
  • - 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • - 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • - 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • - 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • - 4 green onions, chopped
  • - 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • - 8 dried red chili peppers, whole
  • - 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • - 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • - 1/4 teaspoon white pepper

Instructions

  1. 11. Pat chicken pieces completely dry with paper towels
  2. 22. Dredge chicken in cornstarch twice, shaking off excess
  3. 33. Heat oil in wok or large skillet to 350°F
  4. 44. Fry chicken in batches until golden brown (3-4 minutes), drain on paper towels
