Ingredients

  • - 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • - 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • - 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • - 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • - 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • - 1 3/4 cups whole milk
  • - 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • - 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • - Non-stick cooking spray
  • - Additional butter for serving
  • - Maple syrup for topping

Instructions

  1. 11. Sift flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt into large mixing bowl.
  2. 22. Whisk eggs in separate bowl until light and frothy. Add milk, melted butter, and vanilla. Blend thoroughly.
  3. 33. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients. Stir until just combined - do not overmix. Some small lumps are perfect.
  4. 44. Preheat classic waffle iron to medium-high heat. Spray generously with non-stick cooking spray.
  5. 55. Pour 3/4 cup batter into center of waffle iron. Close and cook until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes.
  6. 66. Remove waffle carefully using wooden or silicone spatula. Repeat with remaining batter.
