Ingredients

  • - 1½ cups warm water (110-115°F)
  • - 2¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • - 4½ cups all-purpose flour
  • - 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • - 2 tbsp olive oil
  • - 2 tsp kosher salt
  • - ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • - 2 tsp garlic powder
  • - 1 tsp dried oregano
  • - Additional kosher salt for topping

Instructions

  1. 11. Activate yeast by combining warm water, sugar, and yeast in stand mixer bowl. Allow to bloom until foamy, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. 22. Add flour, olive oil, and salt to activated yeast mixture. Knead with dough hook attachment on medium speed until smooth and elastic, approximately 8-10 minutes.
  3. 33. Transfer dough to lightly oiled bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise in warm location until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  4. 44. Punch down dough and divide into 12-14 equal portions. Roll each portion into 7-inch breadstick shapes.
  5. 55. Place breadsticks on parchment-lined baking sheets. Allow to rise again for 45 minutes.
